NATURAL IGNORANCE

Urban infrastructure is a by-product of western society as we attempt to deal with the rise of population numbers, and the requirements for housing, working environments and transportation. We have become ignorant of the natural environment, focusing on what resources we require for our own benefit. My work showcases a possible dystopian future in which our environment is completely dominated by infrastructure, with a complete absence of nature. Focusing on specific features of the modernist and post-modernist movements, my images showcase the repetitiveness of geometric shapes, the use of lines and squares, as well as the overuse of industrial materials like concrete and steel. This work questions what our world will look like without the presence of nature.
